Once your site is up and running, your primary responsibility is to keep adding content and making sure that your links are valid. Sales, returns, etc are handled completely by the affiliate merchant. You simply collect your commissions.

Since you receive your traffic through the search engines (which James teaches you how to do), there's no need for email newsletters to keep your customers coming back - although some affiliate marketers do choose to incorporate them into their websites. You learn to structure your website in such a way that the search engines provide a constant stream of visitors and customers to your site. The more pages you have, the more visitors they bring. It's as simple as that.

And it works.

The cons of this method of marketing? Only one, as far as I can see. You do have to discipline yourself to do a tremendous amount of isolated work. You will spend many hours in research and writing content for your sites. If you're the type of person that thrives on contact with others in your day-to-day work world, someone who doesn't like to work alone for long periods of time, this may not be the best business for you.
